SCOTTSBORO, Alabama - Construction running late on TVA's Watts Bar Nuclear Plant will likely cause a delay in construction of Bellefonte Nuclear Plant in Hollywood, The Scottsboro Daily Sentinel reported.
The newspaper said that Tennessee Valley Authority officials in a Friday conference call said Watts Bar near Spring City, Tenn., was expected to be completed late last year or early this year is only 70 percent to 75 percent complete. The completion "may slip out to late 2013 or into 2014," a TVA official said.
TVA can't begin construction on a reactor at Bellefonte until Watts Bar is completed, the paper reported.
