BUCHANAN, N.Y. — After a 28 day shut down for refueling, the Indian
Point 3 nuclear power plant is back on line sending electricity to the
grid. It was returned to operation on Sunday afternoon.
During
the shutdown, 900 contractors worked with Entergy’s normal workforce of
about 1,100 employees to add new fuel and perform thousands of
maintenance activities, tests and inspections on equipment at the plant.
The
next scheduled refueling will be in two years, said John Ventosa, site
vice president and Entergy’s top official at Indian Point.
