BEIJING -(MarketWatch)- China Power Investment Corp. signed an agreement Friday with Duke Energy Corp. DUK +0.0047% to cooperate in nuclear-power technology, China Power Chairman Lu Qizhou said Saturday.
Lu didn't elaborate on the details of the agreement.
The move comes after Duke Energy signed a preliminary agreement Thursday with China Guangdong Nuclear Power Group to cooperate in nuclear-power investment and operations, as well as clean energy, the Chinese company said in a statement on its website.
Duke Energy, a Charlotte, N.C. electric utility, has been partnering with Chinese power producers to commercialize clean-energy technologies.
Last month, it signed a three-year agreement with China Huaneng Group to expand research cooperation in advanced coal and carbon capture technologies.LINK
